James Oscar Bowden married Minnie Maudie Gamblin, daughter of Francis Marion Gamblin and Mary Aline 'Mollie' Coats, on 1 June 1918 at Muskogee, Muskogee County, Oklahoma; The 1930 census indicates that Minnie married when she was 15. The married date found in our history, was taken from her obituary. However, the 1920 census finds her age 17, single, and living with her parents. James Oscar has had several children by the time he marries Minnie.
